We are a small team of specialists working within research, marketing strategy and communications whose combined skills give you access to a valuable blend of knowledge and experience.

Our pragmatic, common sense approach is based around sound research, insights and planning. We can work with you at both strategic and tactical levels, helping you to identify and develop new opportunities, new markets and new strategies.

Once these areas have been identified, we can then develop focussed, actionable and measurable plans. Where appropriate, we can also help with the delivery of these plans, whether partnering with you as an outsourced marketing resource or working with you on a project by project basis.

Peter Slater - Managing Director

Peter Slater - Managing Director

As well as Managing Director, I'm also a Senior Consultant involved in marketing and research projects. As a consultant, I like to think that my experience, confidence and enthusiasm help to quickly build a trusted working relationship with my clients.

Recently, my work has been focussed on the public sector, helping to inform and develop communications strategies and deliver successful marketing campaigns.

I also continue to work with SME clients at both a strategic and tactical level - helping them to focus their objectives and gain insights which enable me to plan and successfully implement communications projects, alongside my team.

Over the years I've worked across many sectors including transport, health, food, leisure and tourism. My background is in retail marketing, merchandising and FMCG, dealing directly with multiple retail chains.

I started Power Marketing in 1994 and have over 25 years of marketing, research and business development experience gained at director and senior management level. I'm an accredited consultant with South West Business Link and a member of both the Institute of Directors and the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Stephen Gilmour - Lead Research Consultant

I have spent the majority of my career in market research, giving me a comprehensive and well-rounded knowledge of what does and doesn't work when it comes to a successful market research project.

My particular expertise is in the planning and implementation of transport and waste (recycling) research projects. However, my collective experience means that I have a significant knowledge base to call on when addressing any new research project - regardless of the particular industry or target market.

I enjoy challenging my clients and always seek to fully understand their business and strategic objectives in order to develop the appropriate research 'road-map'. My goal is to provide valuable insights and actionable and meaningful recommendations - not just tables of numbers!

Working for a number of years at HSBC Head Office as Head of Online Research means I also have considerable knowledge and experience in both planning and administering a number of online research methodologies - from online surveys to full website usability appraisals.

Online research is something more and more of our clients are adopting as it is a cost effective methodology which can produce quick results.

Sarah Ingram - Lead Marketing Consultant

Sarah Ingram - Lead Marketing Consultant

I've been working with SME clients for a number of years at both a strategic and tactical level and my particular expertise is in strategic marketing, marketing planning and management of communications projects.

During my career, I've had a lot of experience across a variety of sales and marketing roles at a senior management level, primarily in financial services.

I've managed marketing departments, been responsible for the strategic development and management of a major brand, led marketing communications functions and managed the implementation of strategic marketing projects across a whole division.

I particularly enjoy helping clients gain clarity and focus for their business and marketing activity.

Previously, I was a member of the Associate of the Chartered Insurance Institute and I am currently a member of the Chartered Institute of Marketing as well as an accredited consultant with South West Business Link.

Annette Ladbrook - Project Manager

Annette Ladbrook - Project Manager

I have over 15 years experience as a project manager and senior administrator and have been working with Power Marketing for more than 10 years, helping to support the team with their marketing, communications and research projects.

My management experience is in a number of different areas including market research, media planning, public relations and event management.

I specialise in qualitative research and often help with the recruitment of respondents for focus groups and panels.

I also manage our contractual, financial and policy matters. Currently, we are working towards ISO 9001:2000 and ISO 20252, ensuring that our systems and processes comply with the most stringent professional standards.

Before joining Power Marketing, I worked for a variety of organisations in the UK and abroad in the travel and tourism, advertising, recruitment, training and financial sectors.
