Services for Public Sector Organisations

An important part of service delivery and policy development, primarily for public sector organisations, public consultations are used to inform, plan, develop, review and prioritise services, policies or standards.

Public Consultations

Getting the public's view on important local issues and policies to help shape and influence the local agenda.  We have consulted with the public on behalf of local authorities and organisations on a range of topics including transport, air quality, public spaces, libraries to name a few.  These involved us running focus groups, conducting depth interviews, managing online surveys and doing on street and doorstep, face to face surveys.

Understanding and measuring behavioural change

The challenge for a number of authorities is to encourage their residents to change or adopt a particular behaviour – for example recycling more, using sustainable transport methods, making changes that will have a positive impact on their health and well-being.  We have conducted a number of surveys to understand people’s attitudes, motivators and barriers towards such behavioural change which have been used as an input to service and communication design and delivery.

Project Evaluation - Economic impact surveys

An economic impact analysis (EIA) examines the effect of an event on the economy in a specified geographic area. It usually measures changes in business revenue, business profits, personal wages, and/or jobs. The economic event analysed can include implementation of a new policy or project, or may simply be the presence of a business or organization. An economic impact analysis is commonly conducted when there is public concern about the potential impacts of a proposed project or policy.

For example, we have been involved in a number of projects where the survey has been designed to provide data on the typical spend levels of visitors to particular areas or attractions or to measure the economic impact a reduction in services would have.
